FAQ
What is your wedding photography style?
I focus on natural honest storytelling, and capturing special moments between people. I don't do heavy posing or overly processed images but I do love a mix of fun and romance, and I do love capturing the love between my couples and I also have a weak spot of editorial portraits. Details can be important but they are not the main event for me. I have a love for street photography which informs the way I shoot candid moments. My edits evoke timeless filmic tones but with the benefits of modern sharpness and detail.
How do we get the very best photos of our day?
By relaxing and just enjoying the day, live in the moment - it will go too quick! Just trust me to capture the big moments and small!
What if I hate having my photo taken?
Then I'm probably the photographer for you! This is normal and most of my couples like my relaxed style of shooting and are not fans of being in front of the camera. My job is work fast, make you feel comfortable, give you any gentle support you want and let you get back to the party!
Do you provide wedding books?
Yes of course! Your photos will look best professional printed. My books are made in the UK and of the highest quality I have found. There are loads of options a prices start at £400
What happens before and after our wedding?
About a month before your wedding I like to meet to go through the final details such as timings, locations and group shots. This gives me all of the information I need and ensures I am fully prepared! After the big day it can take between 4-8 weeks to edit all your photos but I'll always aim to get previews to you asap.
Do you do group photos?
Yes of course but in my experience its generally better for everyone to limit these to close family and the ones we would normally get with the wedding party for the sake of everyone's patience. Please allow about 4 minutes at least for each shot and it really helps to appoint a responsible helper who knows who's who. Don't forget I'll be getting informal groups throughout the day and naturally anyway as well.
How do I recieve my photos?
Your wedding package will include an password protected online gallery to view your entire set and allow yourself and your guests to purchase prints and other products if they wish to. The complete package includes a special wooden USB box which holds all of your edited images.
What areas do you cover?
I would love to cover your wedding wherever it is. For weddings over 70 miles from home I may have to add some accommodation/travel costs to your package price.
For destination weddings please get in touch for a bespoke quote.
How do we pay?
Your date is secured with payment of your deposit of £400. The balance needs to be paid at least 4 weeks before your wedding date by bank transfer.
Can we see some full weddings you have photographed?
Of course , I always recommend you request this of any potential photographer - just ask and I'll send you some examples.
Can we meet before booking?
Yes I alway prefer to meet first either in person at MiliMIli Bridal Shop in Colchester or over zoom / facetime etc. Lets chat and see if we are a good fit for each other!
When do you recommend a second photographer?
A second photographer is essential when you want bridal and groom prep or/and there are different locations to travel between on the day. You'll get lots of extra angles and guest shots as well which is why I recommend a second on larger weddings.
What happens if your ill?
Well its never happened yet in over 10 years of weddings but I have an extensive photographer network I can call on to cover any emergencies if needed.
Do we need to feed you?
No but most couples do and it is very much appreciated! Weddings are long days and lots of energy so food is important. For this reason if you can't supply a hot meal please let me know before the day so that I can find somewhere nearby to grab a hot meal while you are eating.
